From the Moderator

As I mentioned in church a few weeks ago, the Youth and their leaders have become a very viable group in our church. The Oktoberfest dinner and entertainment was terrific. Halloween fun night was just that with the kids in full costume vying for prizes, food aplenty, good

games and conversation. Then on November 8th, the Youth will host a pot luck dinner, accompanying an informative seminar on Muslim/Christian rela­tions from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Hope to see you there. On top of that, they will gather to help with the distribution of Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets plus present their Christmas program on December 4th. Your continual sup­port is so much appreciated by our Youth group.

What else does November have in store for us? Oh, yes, the upcoming Stewardship Drive. Tom’s sermon on the 6th will feature this annual plea and some of our lay folks will also deliver a message leading us to Consecration Sunday on the 18th.

During all those years as treasurer or trustee, I always had a dream. That dream would be that our pledges equal the budget, thus avoiding the pressure of putting on fund-raisers simply to sustain a budget. So, help to make this dream a reality, see what you individually can do.
