Lenten season is upon us and we have pondered interesting questions

at our soup suppers on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. As our children try to stump

Pastor Tom on Sunday mornings, so does he try to stump us and cause us to

think deeply with interesting questions. This month also brings Palm Sunday

on March 28th. April 1 will be our Maunday Thursday service at 7:00 pm

when we remember the Last Supper of our Lord. This is a dramatic and moving

service where we strip the altar and cover it with a black cloth until the

joyous celebration of Easter when He is risen. I hope you can join us.

Pastor Tom, Paul of Good Shepherd and I are beginning to put together

an agreement to yoke both congregations. We are open to any questions or

suggestions you might have. If many minds contribute ideas, we will be sure

to cover all the tiny details in our agreement.

We will again fulfill our mission statement as we serve our community

on March 19 with Respite Night. We give parents of east county’s foster children

a night off while we entertain the children from 5 to 9 pm.

I am sure you have heard by now of the passing into God’s hands of our

dear Margie Rucha. Her service is scheduled for March 13 at 2:00 pm in our

Sanctuary with a reception in Fuller Hall to follow. She will be greatly missed

by all.
