The Board of Deacons is the largest of the church boards and they are responsible for most of the spiritual and fellowship activities of the
church. From organizing pot lucks to tending to the candles on the altar, you will see a Deacon! Because of their many responsibilities, there are ten Deacons, and they are all very busy. In the last few years, they
have split up their responsibilities among their members so no one gets too overwhelmed. Nevertheless, Deacons stay busy for the entire year. They plan many of our social events like the church picnic, 5th Sunday pot lucks, and the Lenten soup suppers. They are responsible for all of our special services such as Ash Wednesday, Hanging of the Greens and Christmas Eve along with any changes to the regular church
services, including the music and order of worship. They monitor closely our church membership and attendance as well as keeping up with the prayer chain sending notes of encouragement and looking after those in need.
